The youngest is Amir Mayhar Tafreshipour, whose harp concerto Persian Reflection received a persuasive premiere by its dedicatee Sioned Williams. Tafreshipour was inspired by ancient Achaemenid Persian carvings depicting harpists; the first movement offered glimpses of archaic monody in the solo part, breaking through Bartókian string writing. Premier of ‘Persian Fantasy for harp’ 2003 Iran, Tehran. http://www.sharghnewspaper.com/821020/art.htm Contemporary Music Festival for String Quartets in Iran, Tehran in 2005.articlesandreviews http://www.harmonytalk.com/archives/000522.html An interview on Beethoven with BBC PERSIAN in 2005.
